  • St. James curfew remains in effect

The curfew which was imposed last weekend in volatile sections of St. James has been extended.

The 48-hour curfew which was scheduled to be lifted Tuesday remains in effect until six Wednesday evening.

Norwood, Salt Spring and Rose Heights are the areas still affected.

In Norwood, the boundaries include Blood Lane, Charles Drive, Cake and Sunvally Roads.

In Salt Spring, the curfew area covers the main road in the community, east along an imaginary line at Quarry, South along another imaginary line at Cornwall Court and West along Flour Hill.

In Rose Heights the curfew boundary stretches along the Green Pond Main Road, Farm Hill, South along Rosemount Gardens and West along Vernon Drive.

Since the implementation of this curfew, has there been any success in catching any of the gunmen?

I'm not certain how you come to that conclusion. You want to tell me if some gunmen are in the community where you or your loved ones reside, it would be okay for the police to storm that community with heavy fire power, assuming that everyone in the community is provide a safe haven for the alleged criminals?

Sigh! Whey yuh live? New Yaawwk?!!!! A few months ago a man was held up in a house after the police wanted to apprehend him. What did they do? Come in with attack helicopter and kill off the innocent citizens? No!

They removed everybody else from the area, blocked off the area, and they negotiated with him until he surrendered. What is wrong with our law enforcement agents using proper techniques to protect and serve?
