Gov’t to contribute to shooting victim’s funeral expenses
The Government is assist with the expenses for the burial of 19-year-old Tian Wolfe who was killed in a controversial police shooting two months ago.
The matter was discussed by Cabinet Tuesday.
The decision was made to make a monetary contribution for the funeral.
During a protest in Yallahs, St. Thomas on September 18, Tian, who was two months pregnant, was allegedly hit by a bullet from a policeman's gun.
The melee started after the residents blocked the Yallahs main road to protest against the police shooting of a man from the area.
During the fracas Tian was shot in the neck.
A file on the shooting was sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions last week.
