Attorney General and Justice Minister, Dorothy Lightbourne has fired back at staff members and legal personnel who are accusing her of heavy-handedness.
Miss Lightbourne did not deny that she was opposed to the Commission's choice of Stephen Vasciannie as Solicitor General but said while Mr. Vasciannie is excellent at; he is not equipped with the all-round competence to do the job.
Declaring that her detractors understand this full well, Miss Lightbourne argued that Mr. Vasciannie has never practiced in a court room.
Reacting to complaints about her, the Attorney General criticised staff members whom she said unprofessional rushed to the media and placed their grouses on the, but failed to present them to her.
Miss Lightbourne declared, "They seem to have spoken to everyone but me!"
RJR News reported earlier this week, that members of the legal fraternity were concerned about reports out of the Attorney General's office that Miss Lightbourne was trying to assume day-to-day control of the Solicitor General's Office.
But the Attorney General there are rules and regulations which must be followed and she would be following those rules.
Miss Lightbourne also emphatically denied allegations that she wrote for her charges.
She in turn accused her critics of engaging in politicking and playing dirty.
