  • How is Jamaica coping with record oil prices?

From recollection, Jamaican leadership (PNP and JLP) have poor management on price control.

I guess public transport (taxi and mini bus drivers) set their own prices. Not to mention local groceries and similar services..................

How is Jamaica coping with US$96.00/ barrell oil?
Does it take and blooming idiot to see that emphasis must be placed on alternative energy sources?

Maudib, Sickko, Mosiah your comments please. (As Jawge would say...thanks in advance--------- Jawge 3:16).

Is it affecting them that much? I thought they had some arrangement with Venezuela which would give them some preferential pricing on oil.
That would help the country keep prices in check, even though the world market is going haywire.

      Good question!
We are, where we are! Therefore in our case it is better late than never. That is in the context that over time, considering the deposits are finite, prices shall rise.

Every 'minute drop' of energy scource we can exploit must be exploited. We need a government that shall "do"!
