You ah act like yuh lick yuh head.

The rains have pounded our already vulnerable infrastructure and added to our financial woes. they have to get fixed eventually, you know!

Talk to whomever you wish. I really dont need outside validation for me to feel confortable in my own skin, OK?

Clearly to get Portia and her team back into office ASAP.

He does not give a damn about demonstrated competence or the wishes of the voting public. He "feels good" with the other team, so he will deny reality if needs be to fulfill that single minded agenda.

So I guess this outside influence will
              remain a mystery.

                Innovation.. thinking outside the box....

                Man ah Yard.. Man Abroad...

Shaw told Tuesday's post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House that after raising the issue at last month's meeting of Commonwealth Finance Ministers in Guyana, he took the issue to the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund/World Bank in Washington, which followed.

He said that discussions were also held with the leadership of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington.

"I put the argument, I believe, quite persuasively," Shaw said.
He was supported by other Caribbean countries represented at the meeting in Washington, including three Caricom prime ministers who are also Ministers of finance - Roosevelt Skerrit of Dominica, Dr Keith Mitchell of Grenada and Dr Denzil Douglas of St Kitts/Nevis - all of whom attended a luncheon where they met with senior members of the World Bank.

"The ministers present asked me, in my capacity as minister of finance for Jamaica, to in fact lead the initiative to the multilaterals, because quite a number of our sister Caribbean countries are in a similar position. They have asked me to, in fact, lead an initiative, as a Caribbean initiative, to the multilaterals. That, in fact, is going to be done," Shaw said.
He said that the multilaterals felt that it would make more sense to approach the issue on a regional basis rather than as a Jamaican initiative.

What he is clearly ignoring is that fact that ANY party that won in the last elections would be faced by the same confluence of external and internal issues.

PNP damn well knew of the budgetary shortfall, and so would have been better braced for it. Indeed, it is their own creation. However, oil price increase, sliding dollar, sub-prime crises, food crises, TnT delivering a blow to our LPG ambitions, etc, would have posed sever challenges to them to and acted like a short term financial straight jacket.

Anyone saying otherwise is being economical with the truth.

Golding will be judged on how he deals with these in the short, medium and long term, just as the PNP would be likewise judged.

In short you are saying that
the JLP was unfortunate (a matter of poor timing; winning the wrong time). It's just a matter of coincidence. Had the PNP won they would be in this huge problem and the JLP would be telling the people it's no one's fault, it's just outside influences.

Food crisis uh? with all those arable lands and with god bless earth, sunshine and water we are facing a food crisis?

Can't say I blame the man above as if this is what it will take for black people to know themselves then so be it.

What is to be must be and we must go back to being self reliant

Until the white man turns his back on us we won't stop running to him hat in hand as thats how we are trained.

                            Sitting here watching prophecy fullfil

In the end the prophecy calls for a man and a woman to lead together(King and a Queen) unlike the European backward ways we have to move back to our way of life

                            Seek knowledge wisdom and understanding
its better than silver and gold

MI see dem a make the same mistakes Walter Rodney and dem warn dem bout, but then again why shouldn't we suffer greatly when we not only deported our prophets but kill them also

Its gods way of punishing us and yet still our churches continue to worship everyone but the creator

                            aaaaah bwoy, the beating continues

I agree, we have no one but ourselves to blame. However, the mistakes of yesteryear cannot be righted overnight.

My point is that the present lot should be working to put plans in place to take the necessary action for us to secure our own food independence. The other lot had 18 years to do it and I MUST hold them to account for that. You are long time here and KNOW I have been preaching about food security here for YEARS!

There is no excuse given our agro blessings for us to be reeling from externally induced food crises.
