Two senior managers at the agency have also been sent on leave.
According to information reaching our news centre, the managers were issued with the instructions on Friday.
Internal auditors from the Office of the Prime Minister have been sent to MPM to conduct the audit.
Our news centre has been informed that a probe is also being carried out into reports that documents relating to MPM's financial affairs have been shredded.
MPM is responsible for the collection of solid waste in Kingston and Portmore.
