So I guess I'm wrong again;
no problem. Willi how will water become a scarce commodity
considering that most of the planet is covered with water and just about every place where humans live has it. Is it that water is going to be poisoned with radition and only a few places have potable water?

Most of the planet is covered with water but it's toxic. Water may not be a non renewable resource but even though the hydroligical cycle will continue it only produces a finite amount of water. When you have entire societies flushing toilets and washing cars with potable water you're inevitably going to stress the water supply.

Narrow it down Jawge!
Let us look at Jamaica: Remember we are the land of (wood and...) water!
1. Growing population with greater demand for water -day by day!
2. Growing polution of our aquifers.
3. Growing demand as investments - every sector/type investment - pour in.
4. Growing demand as visitor arrivals climb.
5. Growing demand as areas are built out - residential and commercial.
6. Increased agricultural production
...etc., etc.
Less of the product - polution, denuding of the catchment areas...could also possible lead to less rainfall...
...so delivery & production of water for people and nations must grow! ...just think future...3035?
...and, as for Jamaica how far do we have to look? What will our population be in 50 years? ...new manufacturing? ...total vistor numbers annually? ...level of polution or reclamation of/revitalisation of our watershed areas/catchment areas...
btw - some places importing water for a long, long time
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
Yes. But the political will is not there. It should be a crime to flush a toilet with potable water. Traditional toilets should be banned. Your toilet and your bathtub water should not drain to the same place. Bathwater, water from your sinks and washing machine should be captured separately and reused for tasks that don't require potable water. Every business and home should be required to use sistern technology. Europe is way ahead of us over here. It's a shame.
Only hope you see what really lies
in my question. If yes then a few societies will enjoy the riches of the earth. If no then the laws of thermodynamics will prevail and everything will come to a close very fast. Either way based on certain laws we will close all. There is another solution but I won't say it as it seems outlandish and none of the societies on the planet presently has such technology.
BTW the above sort of gives an insight to global policies.
