The Bruce Golding administration is moving to sensitise new Members of Parliament on issues regarding the use of funds under the Social and Economic Support Programme (SESP).
New MP's have been invited to a seminar next week on the Best Practices and Procedures for SESP disbursements.
The seminar has been organised by the Office of the Prime Minister.
The SESP was introduced in 1990.
It enables MP's to assist needy students in the formal education system; make economic grants to individuals below the poverty line; improve infrastructural and recreational facilities in communities and provide employment opportunities through sustainable projects.
In the past there have been disputes surrounding how SESP funds should be disbursed.
