The Editor, Sir:
My socialist friend Devon Dick comes across as one who is so upset that the myth that Jamaica is 'P.N.P. Country', is now busted. Pastor Dick, Dawn Ritch and others seem to be so outraged that the J.L.P. is now government. It makes you wonder, 'What did the P.N.P. promise them'?
Here is a pastor who is called, by virtue of the fact that he is a Christian, to a ministry of reconciliation, talking about taking away someone's job because they allegedly told a lie. Pastor Comrade, you should be ashamed of yourself an I forgive you for your unfortunate words it would be difficult for me to sit under your leadership as a pastor given your demonstration of intolerance and hint of unforgiveness. You of all persons should know that every soul is a redeemable soul. That's why we preach.
Yours should be a message of forgiveness, yours should be a message of repentance. It is sad when I see or read or hear a pastor making such politicall statements. Sad because, that's not your primary role and function. Sad because the effectiveness of your ministry becomes clouded. Sad because you should be a pastor first.
Be very careful pastor comrade or should I say comrade pastor? Let your light so shine. Not your political light. You are an ambassador of Christ first.
I am, etc.,
