Former champions Munro College and St. Elizabeth Technical (STETHS) registered contrasting wins in the latest round of matches in Zone E of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA)/Pepsi/Digicel dacosta Cup schoolboy football competition yesterday.
Munro crushed its 'beating stick', Maggotty, 4-0 at Appleton Estate, while STETHS beat Lacovia 2-0 at Lacovia. The victory placed the teams on 13 and 12 points, respectively, to set up a big top of the table Zone E derby this Saturday.
brace for kennard
Seventeen-year-old Kennard Brown, who scored 28 goals for his club team in the St. Elizabeth division one competition this year, got a brace in the 29th and 83rd minutes, while Akeem Brown in the sixth and Jermaine Simms got the other goals for Munro.
"It was an easy game but the result could have been better, 4-0 is good," said Hopeton Gilchrist, Munro's coach.
Andre Daley, the captain of the Maggotty team, said there are problems in their camp and there is too much indiscipline.
