I thought a forced keeper substitution did not count as one of the regular 3 subs?!?!

Any and every change is counted...maybe thats what they do in St Elizabeth but nowhere else in the real world.

This is the second time I have seen this happen ion Westmoreland, first time was a Confed game some time ago when a St James team was allowed to make four changes after a young goal keeper broke his leg.

MONTEGO BAY, St James - There was controversy at Mannings School in Sav-la-Mar yesterday when the home team used four substitutes in a Zone C daCosta Cup football match against Petersfield High.

Neither the Mannings coaching staff headed by Eaton Bruce nor referee Ian Myles or the assistant Easton Vanhorne picked up the mistake which was spotted by media personnel covering the ISSA/Digicel/Pepsi schoolboy game.

Mannings were forced to substitute goalkeeper Antonio James early in the game after he was injured. Later, another substitute, David McKenzie, was also injured and had to be substituted, which was when the fourth change was made.

Petersfield, meanwhile, bounced back form their loss to Grange Hill on Saturday to win 2-0 with goals from Rondel Morris and Winston Heaven.

Morris scored from the penalty spot in the seventh minute after James pulled down the mercurial Orpheous McPherson while Heaven added the second late in the game.
Meanwhile, five schools - including former champions Cornwall College and Frome Technical - won their third straight game yesterday.

In addition to the champions, St James High, Spalding and Manchester High were also on the winning sheet.

Spalding went on a goalscoring spree, hammering Albert Town 12-0 in a Zone G encounter, with hat-tricks from Orville Daley and Jamali Powell and two each from Milton Christopher, Christopher Brooks and Andre Salmon.

Radcliff Hall took his tally to six as he scored a hat-trick for Cornwall College in their 4-0 scoreline over Anchovy High to stay tops in Zone A on goal difference over St James High, who were 2-0 winners over William Knibb.

Manchester High beat Belair 2-1 to stay atop Zone F.
Defending champions Glenmuir will face what is expected to be their sternest test in Zone I when they face Garvey Maceo at York Community Centre in one of 12 matches this afternoon.

Both teams are unbeaten and are yet to concede a goal after two games each and jointly lead the group with Old Harbour High, who have played three games.
Garvey Maceo are yet to beat Glenmuir since they moved to Zone I in 2004, but managed to draw both games last season - an improvement over the previous season when they were beaten 5-0 and 2-0.

Garvey Maceo coach, Jeffrey Hewitt, will be hoping Ashton Bennett, last season's top marksman with 23 goals, will lead them past the champions and title favourites.

Patrick 'Jackie' Walters, who conditions Glenmuir, said in the pre-season they can't afford to relax against any opponent and his charges will be ready to stamp their class against Garvey Maceo.

Ricardo Webb leads Glenmuir with three goals and will get support from captain James Thomas, Jon-Ross Doyley and Draion McNain.

Old Harbour, meanwhile, will be back in action for the first time since last Wednesday and will play away to Central High.

Fresh off their 1-0 win over Lennon on Tuesday, Clarendon College should be the first team to win four straight games when they play away to Thompson Town in Zone H, while Lennon and Denbigh will meet in a game which could decide which team stays second behind Clarendon.

Annotto Bay will have their tails up when they travel to take on Oracabessa following Tuesday's 7-0 demolition of Tacky as they seek to take over the lead in Zone K.

Annotto Bay are on seven points and in fourth place, but just a point behind Brimmervale, Oracabessa and St Mary Technical.

Manningd should demand that the match be played over. People have worst and sued. One lady sued after putting a cup of coffee between her legs and a another fellow sued after was stopped twice but not the 3rd time from juming head first into a pool.

A team must have a goal keeper, A player that is on the field can be appointed goal keeper but that is not counted as a sub

Mosiah watch too much MLS. I think the MLS allows GK sub which is not counted in the three subs.

CHAMPIONS GLENMUIR High yesterday lost their unbeaten record in Zone I of the ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel daCosta Cup when Garvey Maceo, behind a first-half strike by Daniel Callaghan, upstaged them 1-0 at the York Town Community Centre in Clarendon.

By virtue of their win, Garvey Maceo are now joint leaders of the group with Old Harbour, who had a 1-0 win over Central High in their game at Effortville Community Centre, also in Clarendon.

However, the Old Harbour team, which scored through Jabari Baker, has played four games to Garvey Maceo's three.

"We prepared ourselves well for this game and this win was not a surprise, we expected it," said Garvey Maceo's coach, Jeffrey Hewitt. "We saw this win coming from as far back as last year it is just that it happened today," he said.

Garvey Maceo's goal, which came in the 18th minute, saw Glenmuir's custodian Christopher Lewis make a brilliant save to deny Andre Prince, but the ball rebounded to Callaghan, who buried it into the back of the net.

In other games yesterday, St. Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) returned to their winning ways in Zone E, blunting Black River 2-0 at Black River. The win took STETHS to six points - three behind runaway group leaders Munro College, who did not have a game yesterday.

Over in hotly-contested Zone K, Brimmervale maintained their position atop the standings with a 2-0 win over St. Mary High, which moved them to 11 points. After five games, Brimmervale now have three wins and two draws, which makes them one of the favourites to advance from what has been a competitive zone so far.

I think this is on or about the 3rd time we are hearing of a favoured team being whipped?

Is it better coaches at these schools not considered 'perennial favourites'...or, just more effort by the other teams and the showing up of the 'established coaches' as not all that?

Like track and field, I think better football coaches are spreading their wings throughout the schools.

Still need some fields. Some can be as bad as when you used to ref, Karl! Even Munro's gone to the dogs as far as I am concerned.
