CHAPELTON, Clarendon - Former champions Clarendon College edged former leaders Lennon High 1-0 in Chapelton yesterday as they cruised to their third straight win in Zone H of the ISSA Pepsi/Digicel daCosta Cup schoolboy competition.

Damali Samuels scored his sixth goal of the season - as Clarendon extended their unbeaten run against Lennon to nine games - and became joint top-scorer so far, along with Lennon's Lavaughn Williams.

The result took Clarendon to nine points - two more than Lennon, who have played one game more.

Vere Technical joined Lennon on seven points after their 2-0 win over Kellits. Michael Moreland scored his third goal of the season while Fernando Black got the other.

In another Zone H match played yesterday, Thompson Town won for the first time since the 2005 season, edging Claude McKay 1-0, thanks to Maxwell Brown's goal.

Paced by a hat-trick from Oshane Dunkley, Annotto Bay had the biggest win of the day, blanking Tacky High 7-0 in the competitive Zone K. Lassana Thomas, Sheldon Davis, Nigel Davis and a defender's goal accounted for the other scores.
Despite the win, Annotto Bay are still fourth in the standings as despite playing to a 0-0 draw with Iona High, Brimmervale lead on goal difference over St Mary Technical and Oracabessa - all on eight points.
Oracabessa and St Mary High also drew 0-0.

Malaka Barrett's treble carried Brown's Town to a 4-2 win over York Castle High and the lead in Zone D. Yesterday's win was the second for Brown's Town and took them to six points, two more than Cedric Titus and Ocho Rios High, both of whom will be in action today.

Tacius Golding scored their first win of the season by beating Bustamante High 3-0 with two goals from Andre Newland, while Newell High surprised Black River 1-0, with Brian McFarlane scoring the decisive goal.

Meanwhile, seven schools, including former champions Cornwall College and Frome Technical, will be seeking to win their third straight game this afternoon when 22 matches across nine zones are played. The other schools are Mannings School, Manchester High, Spalding and Charlemont.

Cornwall, who will be playing at home for the first time this season, host Anchovy who are coming off a 1-0 defeat against Herbert Morrison and coach Dr Dean Weatherly will be hoping Radcliff Hall, who has scored their three goals so far, continues his streak and also for national Under-23 player Edward Campbell, Mikhail Weatherly and Ramon Foster to step up.

St James High will also be relying on point man Nicholie Barrett, who has scored all four goals for the school, to continue his run when they host William Knibb at Jarrett Park.
Barrett scored a hat-trick on Friday when St James High beat Irwin 3-1 and will be licking his lips at the prospect of going up against a William Knibb team that has conceded five goals in two games and are yet to score.

Frome Technical, who outscored Cambridge 3-2 in a Zone B game on Saturday, will be away to Green Island, whom they beat 5-0 and 2-1 when the teams last met four years ago.
Green Island have struggled so far, earning just one point from their two games played and will be hard-pressed to deny Frome victory.

Mannings School have raced to the top of Zone C with back-to-back wins, but will have their hands full against what is expected to be a tough Petersfield team coming off a shock defeat against Grange Hill on Saturday and will be looking to get back to winning ways.

Manchester High have done just enough to earn two wins so far, beating Porus and DeCarteret High by 1-0 margins, and will be favoured against Belair in their Zone F game today.
Belair have scored just once against Manchester in their last six meetings and that was in a 3-1 second-round defeat last season.

Spalding should have the better of Albert Town High, who missed the last three stagings of the competition as they seek to maintain their lead in Zone G.

Charlemont, who are seeking consecutive Inter-Zone qualification from Zone J, are away to Bog Walk High at Bybrook Sports Club and will be seeking their first win over Bog Walk since the 2004 season.

Bog Walk have won two of their last three meetings, including their last clash, and will fancy their chances over their rivals.
