Kingston College (KC) yesterday shook the proverbial monkey off their backs when they lifted the ISSA/FLOW Walker Cup with a 2-0 win over Manning Cup champions Jamaica College (JC) in a fiercely contested final inside the National Stadium.
Goals on either side by former Camperdown stalwarts Fabian Grant (1st minute) and Andre McCatty (54th), handed the North Street-based team their ninth hold on the knockout title, joining neighbours St George’s College as the most successful teams.
It was also sweet redemption for the Ludlow Bernard-conditioned KC to salvage a piece of silverware from the 2016 campaign, and in the process, break a lengthy title drought dating back to 2000.
