Guys this is horrible news, yuh think you see burnout, is now you going to see burnout. The idea of cumulative points carried into the final championship is going to turn into an ugly thing. Competition is going to be too high too early, these guys going to kill the golden goose by trying to replicate her eggs with mini champs with points and trying to replicate it six times. This is also a straight up money grab with little limits applied. Points earned and carried over must be severely limited so that it does not equate overall to more than a Friday champs worth of results any more and the golden goose will be severely injured.

Dont worry...none of the big skools will fall for this trap. Champs too important and dem have gym equipment long time.

Its for the "small" schools to get a likkle windfall

                    Why must there be burn-out?
Burn-out only occurs when there is no good teacher guiding or no disciplined student doing what is right for self!!!

Good teachers strive to maintain joyous atmosphere as learning occurs. When the joy goes - burn out enters!!! ...matters not if it is 'books'=mental effort or physical effort'! ...'memba no one enjoys overwork!!!

Well would this be good for late bloomers or those just below the top?
What presently happens if a school has 5 or more 10.00 sec. 100M or 10.5 or whatever boys? Do a 3 or more boys give up on sprinting if the school uses only the top 5?

...and could it be that those are the ones with even more talent than all others at the other schools...and perhaps even those at their school...????

Sports talent or talent at a sport is hard to spot...save gut and use of stats? Who would swear that it is our best who go on to represent us? ...hard to believe that even better than say...Merlene, VCB, Shelly-Ann or DJ, DQ, Bolt has been lost...but it sure as hell is a possibility!!!!

Where did Asafa..others on our record breaking 4x1 teams come from? Where were they at their young ages...schoolboy ages?

ISSA and JAA have no money. you realise that?

isnt ISSA also responsible for schoolboy football and everything elese? why haven't they taken it to the same heights as track and field? after all manning cup and dacosta cup has been around for a loooooooooooooong time. not as long as champs though.

look like jamaican people prefer track and field to football.

It is much easier to build an individual sport that a team sport and for the most part Track and Field is an individual sport. I am not sure that ISSA set out to develop track and field. ISSA provided Champs and school boy football but is was MVP and Racers that took track and field to the next level.

"People think that ISSA is all about developing sport... that is not our duty...we are not responsible for developing any sport, the parent bodies are so responsible. As far as we are concerned, what we do is an extension of physical education, so we have to be very careful with what we do," he ended - Forbes
