‘Look to the West’: JC recruited heavily from rural schools

If the Jamaica College (JC) team looked at home in western Jamaica in their opening ISSA/Lime Manning Cup game against Jonathon Grant on Saturday, they had every right to.

At least four of their players played daCosta cup for western-based schools last season, indicating the Kingston school’s scouting resources.

A fifth player who represented the country at the Under 17 level was declined a place in the Old Hope Road school after he failed to get the required passes in external examinations.
