I thinking you misspoke as those earlier statements suggested that learning as provided by absorption of 'life-necessary' taught facts and given tools through instructions delivered by the sports teachers is not 'education'.

So let the reader fill in... -- .... than at any particular sport discipline but it is a false choice to suggest the school must either choose a sport discipline or an academic discipline.
