Excellent suggestions by Colour.
Never read carefully on the KO format...but making it an All-island KO would be great...where on in the early rounds and succeeding rounds with seeding of the 'big schools' you would have the same type uncertainty as in the oldest KO completion in the world...the FA KO Cup.
That thought of the kids traveling far and wide across the country is sweeeeet!!!"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

...so to clarify -
On instituting Colour's suggestion on seeding teams and thus deciding which round such teams enter the competition:-
- Open the draw to one pool inclusive of D'Cup and Manning Cup schools and at the very least ensure in the first round and second rounds D'Cup teams play Manning Cup teams such as numbers allow. After those rounds allow random draws, that is, let the chips fall where they lie:
Assuming - The competition shall be open to all secondary high schools registered with ISSA...
- then...
1. Manning Cup teams will be in one pot and D'Cup teams in another;
2. Selection made matching one team from one pot with a team from the other until one pot has no more entrants/no team;
3. The remaining teams (matters not if it is say, D'Cup only teams or Manning Cup only teams) are then drawn in alternate manner and paired - e.g. first out, second out - play each other; third out, fourth out play each other, etc;
4. If 1 team is left without an opponent, after a draw after that round is played that team shall be placed in the following round draw...
Allows our kids to travel far and wide across the island and may just raise the level of the various coaches and levels of play as the motivation to avoid early elimination rises.

Schools are not football academies.... nor should they be converted to that mission
