TALISMANIC captain Javoni Simms scored in the first period of extra time to lead Charlie Smith High to a 3-2 win over last season's champions Jamaica College (JC) in the riveting semi-final of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) Gatorade/Digicel/Manning Cup competition at the Constant Spring field yesterday.
Andrew Allen in the 26th minute and substitute Lennox Russell in the 66th scored the other goals for Charlie Smith, in a game that was short on technical quality in many instances.

JC pushed the game to the extra 20 minutes after late strikes from substitute Kenrick Jones (79th) and inspirational playmaker Taval Whittaker, a minute before the end of normal time.
The 'Charlie' team will meet St George's College in next weekend's championship match at the National Stadium.
After a nervous-looking start from both teams, Allen rounded off a fluent right-sided move to beat JC's goalkeeper Sherrick Davis to send 'Charlie' ahead.
Despite having the lead, the Jerome Waite-coached team struggled to find positive rhythm and lost possession easily on numerous occasions.
Ace marksman Michaelos Martin, midfield kingpin Vishunal Harris and Simms appeared uninspired in the first half.
For JC, Whittaker provided moments of spark, but he was often left fighting a losing battle against a stifling Charlie Smith defence.
Jamaica College, started the second half in aggressive fashion as Simms and company pulled off a series of individual trickery to send the spectators in rapturous applause.
Just 21 minutes into the second half, Russell doubled Charlie Smith's lead after whipping in a right-sided effort that sailed beyond Davis and into the JC goal.
The second goal brought out the best in the JC team, which is guided by head coach Alfred Henry. They managed to pull a goal back when Nicholas Scott controlled a deep diagonal pass for Jones to hit a curler into the net from close range.
With Charlie Smith players constantly falling to the ground and halting play, apparently in a bid to use up time in the remaining minutes, JC conjured up a spectacular equaliser.
Whittaker capitalised on a loose ball and cracked a pin-point 22-yard shot wide of Charlie Smith's 'keeper Sulane Powell into the corner of the net.
With the momentum riding with Jamaica College after the scintillating comeback, Simms gave his team the last laugh in the final minute of the first period of extra time.
The left-sided playmaker latched onto a nicely weighted pass from Allen, took a touch with his chest and poked in an effort past Davis, who was hesitant in leaving the goal line.
