big up to the RABALAC alumni, as we exact revenge on JC 1 love, after dem squeeze out a meager 88th minute goal at their grounds 6 weeks ago

    Calabar exact sweet revenge
BY Livingston Scott Observer staff reporter
    Sunday, October 15, 2006

IT was sweet revenge for defending Manning Cup champions Calabar High, who defeated Jamaica College 1-0 in a Group E return game at the National Stadium yesterday. Shane Bygrave scored the lone goal a minute before the interval, although the David Hunt-coached side had two goals disallowed in the first half.

The result left both teams on 15 points, but with JC ahead on goal difference. Calabar controlled play in the first half, and found the back of the net when Anthony Grant headed home Lennox Creary's free kick from six yards. But referee Winston Delahaye called for an infringment against the player.

Creary, who recently returned from injury, inspired his team and set up Conroy Cunningham's headed goal after 35 minutes - which was also disallowed.
However, a minute before the break, Creary again initiated a move and slipped a pass to Ramone Palmer, who crossed for Bygrave to finish from 10 yards.

JC improved in the second half, but key player Keammar Daley, who led the Dark Blues to victory against their rivals in the first game, was a shadow of himself.

And despite picking up his game in the second half, Daley and company found the Calabar defence inpenetrable.
Hunt lauded his team's "excellent" first half.
"We totally overpowered the JC team and scored two goals, but unfortunately the referee did not allow them... but the second half was more even...," he said.

JC's Alfred Henry was also pleased with his team's performance. "I'm really satisfied with what happened today. Our programne is on stream and is not based on wins and losses," he explained.
Meanwhile, Norman Manley regained top spot in Group B with 23 points - two more than Spanish Town - following a 4-1 win over the latter.
