Francesco Totti has revealed that he wants to beat Manchester United 7-0 in the Champions League clash at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening.
The Roma talisman is vowing to avenge the humiliating 7-1 thumping that Man Utd dished out to the Giallorossi in last year’s quarter-final.
“I would like to beat Manchester 7-0. I am optimistic ahead of the game,” declared Totti.
“I know it will be difficult to win the whole Champions League, especially with a team like Roma, but I want to try and do it. “Who are the favourites for the trophy? Milan and Inter look good but I also favour Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester as well.”
Er Pupone also revealed that he is still positive about Roma’s chances for the Scudetto, despite the heavy 4-1 defeat to Inter on Saturday.
“Until a week ago we were getting so many compliments, we were Scudetto favourites and ready to challenge for the Champions League, so how can that all be gone now. Things became tough for us against Inter because we had to play on the counter-attack after Giuly’s sending-off,” Totti added.
“Inter remain the team to beat and they have improved with the acquisition of Chivu, who in my opinion is the best centre-back in the world. However in his place, we have bought Juan, Cicinho and Giuly, so we haven’t done too bad for ourselves either.”
