  • The Boys Update Fall 2024

The boys have done well this year, my older one doing his first year in college and the younger one doing his last in high school.
Scott is a freshman at Middle Georgia State University. We choose that school since last year was a hard one for recruiting because of Covid kids staying behind and other schools offer were not good enough or far from home in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and out west. Middle Georgia is 2.5 hour from home and he decided to there as he thought he would get playing time and unlike many others who were played a little or were red shirt freshmen (the didn’t play this year but should next year).
At the start of the season he was disappointed as the first two games he got no minutes, He spoke to the coach on what he could do to get time but the coach told him he was practicing well enough and he had two center mid with more experienced. Third game he got some minute but by the fourth game he got large minutes and praises from coach and teammates. He sooner made his name not only in the number 6, but number 8 and 10 position on the team. He had a great season and his coach told him he was the “surprise of the season”. Now college is no joke as many of the players in his region are former academy players overseas. 80 percent of the kids in the region are from abroad, there are players who have spent 5, 6 years in college. His college has about 80 percent players from England, Italy, Germany, South Africa, Columbia etc. This is a great experience for him. The season was an average season but much better than the year before.

My younger one has played his final Club season at U19, He played mostly right back, center back, a little bit at right wing. He wanted to develop his overlapping and attacking skills so he asked his coach for freedom to go forward so it was comprise for him to go on the wing back and sometime play center mid this year. His team ended the season unbeaten the league and winning it. He scored 4 goals and has 5 or 6 assist. He is now looking at colleges and will soon decide. He has to play high school in the fall so I am looking forward to this.

Time certainly flies. I remember when both boys were babies. Now they are young men.

Next thing, they are borrowing your car... and a little later, you have daughter-in-law.

        Nice job Assasin!

        Happy new year.
