  • The Jamaican Baller giving back?

Oftentimes we talk about Burrell and his giving back which is considered "buying out" by many but I have to ask what has the Jamaican Baller done since 98? I see Aaron Lawerence giving trying to set up an Academy and that is commendable. I know people like Freddie Butler trying to get players out of Jamaica and some are in coaching but what about giving back especially since many of them have gotten decent size contracts and what of the UB40s who only talk that they want to contribute?

Until now we haven't got a players union or anything resembling that so the JFF can do what they always did without a player getting proper represenatation. When the team travel they don't do media, or community service to raise their profile and I doubt they do very much at home.

We often talk about giving to the ghetto people but do they realise they have a responsiblity to live up to their end of the bargin when they get a bligh?

In most other leagues the players do community service, if you notice one of the first thing Beckham did was go to Harlem when he came to America. He is also working with a lot of kids, do you think this is acidental? Most Pro clubs pay some community service as they know the value.

Next time them ball bout match fees and support they need to thinkand realise that they can play their part and also encourage many young potential players who are watching their actions.
    • Don't let negative things break you, instead let it be your strength, your reason for growth. Life is for living and I won't spend my life feeling cheated and downtrodden.

I'm with you on giving back!
I wonder if any of our players are quietly giving back? ...to school? ...to community from which they came? ...to our football? ...or a charity? ....or, whatever?
