If you have a kid or you want to make good part time money, the US is very short of refs. My two boys do it when they are not playing. I have thought about it but can't until the boys can transport themselves. In GA kids 13 and up are making 14 dollars to 40 dollars a game to be a linesman. When they are middle ref they will make 25 dollars up per game. They choose their time and weekend and assignor as well as the park they want to ref. It is also a good way to stay close to the game.
