To hurt City, you have to ask serious questions of its defense, we know OGS will field three midfielders, adding an extra central defender deprives the forward-line of not just one player(the case when we pad the midfield)but now two.
What I do not understand is if defense is being identified as The area in need of rectify, how can we field a formation that is over reliant on our wingbacks to deliver balls into the opponent's box, wouldn't you rather them focused on bolstering our suspect defense?
For me, it s either Lindelof or MaGuire, and against City, I prefer having Lindelof.
MaGuire is too slow, and is often out of position because of his penchant go forward .
Two reasons why I would be okay with Rashford coming off the bench against City, Fred starts for me in attempt to nullify City's midfield(he does a nice job tracking his opponent), and he is ideal to have the desired effect on the game if needed.

I would prefer the 4-4-2 formation against City,both Greenwood and Rashford will tackle, and are quite capable of plying the flanks, but given this unjustified concern about City's midfield and forward-line, I will acquiesce to fielding an extra midfielder at the expense of having Rashford.
It is a pity because City is the type of team Rashford can be counted on to give a darn good account of himself against.

Since the start of the season MU has given up numerous chances. Finally Ole changed the system to address the problem. The number of chances decreased drastically against Spurs. Against Atalanta they went 1 up but notice that the chances created by the opponents were minimal ....until Varane got subbed and the system changed. We need to learn from previous mistakes. Why revert to a system that leaves us in peril?

A first half of what may very well be called defensive practice for my team, we have a decent forward line to ask questions?of City's defense and keep ball possession, that us circumvented to field three defenders and three midfielders.
The fix-Do NOT take off Greenwood, take MaGuire and Fred off,bring on Rashford and Lingard.

OGS takes Bailly(he is responsible for the own goal)off when he is the only defender worth keeping(tackles and and disclose our to stay in his half)and brings on Sancho who has yet to find his footing.
