Comments (from assistant coach Michael Francis): We are in a rebuilding process right now and we are just going to take it one game at a time and see how best we can really tackle the season. It's a young squad, but quite a few players with experience have come back to the club, so all in all I think we should have a very good season.
Though we are taking it one game at a time, every game will have to be played like a final, due to the format, which is a challenge so we just have to work towards that challenge and try to get the results we want.
Three points are what we will need at the end of the day, so we will have to go out and compete and compete to the best of our ability. We are going to see how best we can challenge for the title, as our objective is to always try and win the title and that will be no different this year.
August Town
    Venue: UWI Bowl

Coach: Christopher Bender (since last November)
Honours: One Super League title, one Major League title, one Syd Bartlett title, first season in NPL
Last season: Promoted as NPL play-off winner.
Leading players: Leroy Gray, Zico Herrera, Tyrone Davis, Jermaine Richards, Tremaine Stewart, Derrick Smith and Asa McIntosh.
Comments (from head coach): Teams usually have a difficult time (in top flight) if the management structure and the resources are not fully in place to offset the challenges the club will have to face.

August Town practise at the UWI bowl yesterday. (Photo: Bryan Cummings)

First and foremost, what we try to put in place is a very good management structure because off the field affects what goes on on the field. So our approach at August Town is to get a very good management structure in place. To that end, the University Sports Endorsement Fund has adopted the August Town Association, that in itself puts us in an extremely good position, as it provides not only financial resources, but human resources as well, in terms of expertise in all the areas that we need to maximise our club's potential.
Areas such as marketing, psychology, physiotherapy, down to field preparation, because at the university you have all the expertise and we want to maximise on all of those.
The team is training real hard and we know what it is going to take to consolidate ourselves in the league, so the effort that it is going to take to survive the league that is what we are putting all our focus on.
What we want is each player giving his absolute best when he takes the field each week. The field is in very good condition, it's fully grassed and the stands
