A lot of things would be involved. Bigger budget from schools.
It means more scholarships
Many college coaches are just part timers and would have to commit more time.

How would it affect the classroom?

on one hand I like it but on the other it is a hard sell to the administrations. College soccer needs more support to be more successful. When it start take in 1/10 of what football and basketball do for the big school.
