What is grossly evident in Ja's high school football is a good first touch and lack of swift decision making. I've watched enough of Pep (via games and documentary to know what he likes) Pep likes an excellent first touch in his players, if you are lacking there Pep will see you off as a young player (check out the young players that Pep transferred or loaned out.
The Brasilians on the other hand are more concerned about the mind. In short one's decisions (as they see a good first touch as automatic for top flight football). This is why the Brasilian campaign failed because the mind of the 2018 selecao came under attack (more on this in another thread).
In prof. Simoes "manifesto", thesis of his argument was mind, feet and body.In short; to a Brazilian once the ball touches your feet or body the mind must engage to make a swift decision. This means as the ball strikes a player immediately something productive must be done with the ball, not after several touches or thinking with the ball at one's feet.

How many touches did this player make before an execution? the second the ball came to his foot a decision was made with the defender coming on and the goalie closing the angle. The player did not control then push off the ball because this would give the defender the extra seconds he needed. This exemplifies what it takes to be a top level player. One cannot achieve this level with high school football.
