MLS planning to end geographic restrictions on homegrown talent recruitment. It is seen by many as one of the biggest steps MLS can make to improving youth development, as this would allow MLS teams to compete, against each other, to sign the best talent in the country.
It would essentially force MLS teams to prove they can create an effective, high quality pipeline for academy kids to the first team and top teams in Europe.
