The Miami MLS team has interviewed & seems intent on hiring Atlanta’s VP of Soccer Operations, Paul McDonough, for their GM position.
DC United has finally formed their reserve/USL team – Loudoun United FC. They'll play in Loudoun County VA, which is where DCU is planning to build their training facility. Loudoun County is the richest county in the U.S. I was hoping they would have chosen Prince Georges County, MD (large Hispanic/Latino & Black population), for their training facility & academy.
Now that they have their own stadium, I hope they will follow through on promises to invest more in their academy & make it FREE for academy players…….They will have competition for academy players, because Villarreal CF has started an academy not far away in VA, and they announced they will be scouting VA, DC & MD (as far as Baltimore).
Bayern Munich has been making their presence felt. 4 months ago they formed a Development Partnership with FC Dallas (one of the top academies in the U.S.), they identified the 1st player they wanted to train in Munich & after the training stint, signed him to a 1 year youth contract. Since then, they have signed a 17 year old Real Salt Lake academy player (he is waiting on his Euro passport to make the move), and 2 other youth players, from LA Galaxy & Sporting Kansas City, who they had training with them were invited to trail.
Eintracht Frankfurt is partnering with Global Performance Academy (GPA) to opening a full academy in Washington, Michigan.
The City of Miami Commissioners approved the new stadium proposal/plan going on the ballot, and now the Miami MLS team awaits the residents’ vote in November.
Columbus Crew turned down a $4M offer for their goalkeeper, Zach Steffen, from Bristol City FC…….I think Zach will be the USMNT #1 keeper. Been impressed with him since the 2015 U20 WC.
You said you didn’t know most of the new, young USMNT members, so here is something to get you started:

The players they don’t cover, I'll get info for you.
