= I agree that the academy recruiting should be open. It will force the academies to invest more (resources & better coaches/teachers) in their youth development.

NOTE: I told you last year that FC Barcelona started their 1st FULL academy in the U.S. (in Arizona), with their administrators & coaches from Spain.......A second La Liga team has followed suit. Villarreal CF has joined forces with Virginia youth club, Annandale United FC, to form Villarreal Virginia Academy, 2 weeks ago. Villarreal CF's technical directors, coaches & scouts will be in charge, and they already announced they will be scouting Virginia, DC & Maryland for youth talent.......GOOD!!! Put pressure on DCU to step up, with their academy.

The academies play their vital part but:

Parents play a major role in this dynamics. At this age, nothing can be achieved without them. They are the ones with the original vision.
