If playing in the WC is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things,why is that player willing to become a citizen of any footballing country that will take him?
Football livelihood has everything to do with recruitment of new fans, and the target is youngsters.
Nothing facilitates that better than WC,household names are made there even without the youngsters knowing the club the player belongs to.Comment
