Your FIFA.com story has been successfully e-mailed to your friend(s).Further to the decision by the FIFA Executive Committee at its latest meeting in Zurich on 27 June to mandate the FIFA President to resolve this matter, the following conclusions have been reached regarding the South American preliminary competition for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, in consultation with the CONMEBOL Executive Committee:1. The preliminary competition matches shall be played in a round-robin format, starting in October, with fixtures being scheduled on the international match calendar's existing dates for back-to-back national team matches, as well as one additional date between 14 and 18 June 2008.2. The qualifiers shall be staged in suitable, FIFA-approved stadiums and preference shall be given to those stadiums where matches have been held previously. A change of venue shall be authorised only where the climatic and geographical conditions of the new venue are similar and the change does not give a sporting advantage to any party.3. In accordance with a specific request by the Bolivian football association, which CONMEBOL has backed unanimously, permission has been granted on this occasion for it to stage the home matches of the Bolivian national team at the Hernando Siles stadium in La Paz.4. The political and sporting authorities in Bolivia are requested to work towards building a sports stadium in La Paz that takes into account the research conducted by the FIFA Sports Medical Committee, according to which matches in future competitions are to be played at a maximum altitude of 2,500m with a margin of tolerance of up to 2,800m. In sport (particularly football (soccer)), a two-legged match is a match-up between two clubs or nations that lasts over two individual games. Typically, these are used in knockout cup competitions. The team who progresses is the one with the better aggregate score, which refers to the sum of scorelines from the two games. For example, if two teams are playing each other in a two-legged match, and the first result is 1-1 and the second is 2-1, then the aggregate scoreline will be 3-2. If the aggregate score is tied, then away goals may come into consideration. If away goals are equal, or are not considered, then extra time and possibly a penalty shootout will occur.In typical two-legged matches, each team will play one game (known as a 'leg') at 'home' as a way to resolve who is the strongest of the two teams without giving only one of the teams a home field advantage. However, most managers and players feel that the team playing at home for the second leg has a slight advantage over the other team.
