    MLS SuperDraft was today, and after the first 2 Rounds (46 players selected) no Jamaicans were selected. Rounds 3 & 4 will be January 21…….The 1st pick was a 20 year old, from Portugal, who came through the Sporting CP academy. International players selected in these first 2 Rounds are from Portugal, Spain, Ghana, France, England, Germany, Rep. of Ireland, Haiti, Costa Rica, Senegal & Norway……. José Marí Bakero’s son, Jon, was selected 5th.

      5 were selected (4 in Round 1 & 1 in Round 2), so far. There could be more in Rounds 3 & 4.......Looks like teams needed GKs this year. I can't remember so many GKs being selected in the 1st Round. I even see LAG negotiating to sign a 24yo GK from Honduras.

        1 Jamaican was selected in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft – Andre Morrison, a defender out of Hartford University. He was selected in the 3rd Round (the 69th pick) by Toronto FC.

        * International players selected in the 3rd & 4th Rounds came from Brazil, New Zealand, Liberia, France, Germany, Guatemala, Spain & Jamaica.

        * MLS clubs PASSED on 11 picks in the 3rd & 4th Rounds.

        * Rockman!!!…….2 more goalkeepers were selected.

                I was told by someone without any obvious link to the MLS that some emphasis will be placed on goalkeepers under some undisclosd 'collective' five years plan. I thought nothing of it at the time.

                  It has to do with the young, promising goalkeepers either leaving or having one foot in Europe, and so many of the starting MLS goalkeepers in their 30's. Teams are also signing their HG goalkeepers, to get them up to speed ASAP.
