Of course they all dont have the same spending power but why would Benitez say they can compete financially ? Why does he believe Citys' reign will be short ? Why did those mistakes not cover the faults given the massive positive net spend by those richer clubs ?

Is he hinting at what he and Klopp have said repeatedly that with a strong academy and scouting department the gap can be bridged.I remember he said back in 04 -05 that all Pool needed was $50 million every season to purchase a big name player,and that does not include the sell to buy ,it should be set aside exclusively to buy that kind of player.Well in my view it has risen to a $100 million.
