The new-look Edward Seaga Sports Complex field will be ready to host Tivoli Gardens' second home game of the 2017-18 Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) season against Harbour View on October 15.
Edward Seaga, Tivoli Gardens president, whose honour the ground was named, said renovating the field was not as expensive an exercise as might be believed.
"I believe we are overstating the problem. I was induced to believe that this would be an expensive exercise but I have taken the lead by uprooting the entire field at Tivoli Gardens from the soil right down to the base and we have replaced it with new soil, sand, and an irrigation system with green grass growing. Very happily, that will be ready and we should see the result on October 2 if there is no hurricane coming there," Seaga said yesterday.

Seaga said other clubs with similar thoughts about the expense of renovation could, for between $1 million and $2 million, also redo their fields.
"The same time I am saying this because other fields that are in need of renovation, the clubs thought like I did that it is an expensive project. It is not, comparatively speaking ... and for those fields that do need this, I hope they can undertake this exercise in the course of this year so that we will have top quality football fields on which to play football," Seaga, who is also chairman of the Premier League Clubs Association (PLCA) added.
The club, which made an arrangement with Arnett Gardens for the fixture between both clubs set for ESSC to be played at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex - home of Arnett Gardens, on October 1 will play the return game on January 28 at Tivoli.
