Congrats are in order for Tappa and the Rboyz
Well Tappa I give you and the team a B. This is after factoring
in the degree of difficulty of the test. No goals were score by
Ja hence no A. Let’s get to the meat of the matter. Yes Ja played
a disciplined game (by not taking Mexico’s bait to press high).
You could see that the Mexicans wanted Ja to come in and press
high, this way they could slice up Ja and be at the 18 in seconds.
Mexico got so frustrated, that they resorted to long balls from the
back. It shows that they depend heavily on instructions and cannot
Improvise.
Ja need to time the release of the ball to Mattocks and have another
attacker run with Mattocks. This way a defender can’t go all out on
Mattocks ,because there is another passing option. Oh yes I saw the
Penalty but the ref wouldn’t call it. This is why I frowned on Friedel’s
comment that Ja should go after Mexico more. What if a Mexican just
shoves Ja’s attacker off the ball, then counter with a through pass?
(ref would not call a foul)Good judgment Tappa; keep it tight all the way
Ja players must stop from letting the ball go by then run after it. Control
the ball first, then make your decision.
The next test believe it or not is the easiest of them all but Tappa and the Rboyz should exercise caution. El Salvador knows nothing of defending and they are under the delusion that they are a highly skilled attacking team (see game against Mexico and Curacao). Ja should punish them on the counter at every turn. (as they may come in waves). Look for them to roll around on the grass trying to get a Ja player sent off (that’s their game). They all cry out to the ref saying Ja is a physical team as if one is there to play chess
Keep on doing Ya thing Tappa
