Nice read. Will put out an extensive post on youth development. Futsal is just one aspect (though critical) in the making of say a Robinho, Neymar, Jesus et al.
Maybe I should build a youth team with those skills right here in the US. hmmmmm
When you watch the video above; remove yourself from watching the technical tricks (which obviously came from Futsal). Watch the player's decision (which is very important) where he puts the ball. You will then see that he was trained to execute. In short a trained assassin. Most coaches outside of Brazil may become impatient and not seeing what this player is doing. He is distracting opponents and spectators alike, in the mean time he is creating space on the fly. At 3:23 majority of players would let the ball go out for a throw (thinking there is no space to operate) not so for this player. He can catch your whole defensive system off guard because you thin "ah time for a throw". Being technical is one thing but the mind to solve problems and create space is another.
