    Majoring In The Minor: THE JFF/BULLEAD SAGA

    Owner of the Phoenix football academy, guardian, agent and manager of Leon Bailey one of the best young football talent in Europe, Craig Butler, has come out swinging at current Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) director Vin Blaine, as well as the federation's failed policy of scouring the lower leagues of England in search of eligible and willing players to represent Jamaica .

    The question the JFF need to answer is how in the world did we reach here ?Bullead is not the problem,he is a symptom of the problem.

    Who am I or anyone to take it upon themselves to exclude him from offering assistance to fix the problem or even opinions?

    That doesn't not mean he is exempt from criticism.

      there must be a way under FIFA regulations to get a minor into europe in order to experience what is required to succeed.

      chippy spent about 2 years there refining his skill. raheem sterling and before him john barnes represents what can happen if football minded youngsters get that opportunity by age 14/15

          minors? really?

          adults yes because of liberal immigration policies especially between france on their former colonies and the nederlands and theirseas territories and similary with spain and their fomer south american colonies.
          not to mention the grandfather clause for citizenship.

          simply put it is more difficult for jamaicans not impossible but much more difficult.

          all an american player needs is a ticket to get to europe and then he can try to arrange trials etc...

            I think we are fooling ourselves into believing that other countries beside Britain have a liberal immigration policy,they all have to enter under a broad EU framework.Granted the asylum route should not be a Jamaican option.

                        What a lot of the major clubs are doing is to partner with overseas clubs to get first options on their youths. The JFF needs to facilitate the development of private clubs and nurseries like Phoenix so that they can attract foreign investments. Bailey's rise is the best advertisement Phoenix and Jamaica can get, and if the can squash their differences fast, everybody can capitalise.

                              Most Americans playing in Europe have a Grandmother or parent who is European so they are able to get European passport. Make people gwaan fool themselves.

                              Butler will not be able to get youth players in European without putting the JFF in a bad light. He was able to take that chance with this son and eventually getting through. X is Butler wife Jamaican?
