Genk forward Leon Bailey’s Premier League suitors are considering bids for before the transfer deadline.

The highly-rated winger was expected to leave Belgium for one of Europe’s top leagues at the end of the season.

But the process is accelerating after Roma and Bayer Leverkusen intimated that they are ready to launch £20million bids this month.

Lyon and Nice are also keen on Bailey. Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton and Bournemouth have all registered an interest in the 19-year-old forward - but were expecting to wait until the summer to make their move.

However, the English sides are ready to swoop for the Jamaican this month to ensure they don’t miss out.

Genk are keen to hang onto Bailey, but would consider an offer that would see their talented teen stay in Belgium before leaving ahead of next season.

ONCE AGAIN, the JFF are asleep at the wheel and Jamaica's youth are the casualty.......The JFF (Jamaica's governing soccer body) has done nothing MEANINGFUL to produce QUALITY coaches/teachers & players, and I see MLS teams showing less interest in the Jamaican market.

It's virtually impossible for our yutes to be ready for the big stage when the talent is not prepared and exposed properly from 6-8 y.o. at the latest.

This is the dirty trick the JFF uses to ignore our yutes...and focus on an import-led strategy..Set up our yutes for failure with no development implemented...

When the yutes fail just say "they're no good" so we have to get the "best" players from out of England And so the JFF's Circle of Madness go around continually

The result of that madness is the complete underdevelopment of Jamaican football.. 20 YEARS OF NO WORLD CUP QUALIFICATION....and much worse...NO ORGANIZED YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Captain Burrell and his Band of Nincompoops should be forced to walk the plank for sailing our football upon the rocks.

This is NOT a coincidence. We have the physical tools & the desire...the technical guidance, exposure & support are what's stopping a steady pipeline of yutes like the above from emerging

Manning and DaCosta standards too low compared to schoolboy football throughout Africa, Europe and the Americas(nonCaribbean). I don't think it's due to a lack of talent but more due to coaches who don't know or understand the game.

You are CORRECT!!!

The JFF, like any other national soccer federation, is responsible for the development of soccer in the country, and the federation must formulate the most effective and efficient program to accomplish this. The only way Jamaica can effectively & efficiently produce TOP quality players is if the JFF has GOOD, QUALIFIED & EXPERIENCED coaches/teachers at the youth levels, identifying & developing the island’s youth players. Based on what I’ve seen & read, the JFF makes no meaningful investment in developing their coaches, so POOR coaches/teachers = POOR players/students.

A few years ago U.S. Soccer evaluated their program, and realized that their youth development system wasn’t producing the desired results, so they made a number of changes to the coaching development system. One of the new measures was to hire GOOD, QUALIFIED & EXPERIENCED personnel from Europe, as Director of Coaching Education & National Coach Educators, aimed at upgrading the EDUCATIONAL and LICENSE process, to match UEFA…….Maybe the JFF should use the money earmarked for a “foreign” head coach to hire GOOD, QUALIFIED & EXPERIENCED Coach Educators, to help develop GOOD, EFFECTIVE Jamaican coaches to build a STRONG National Soccer Development Program…….If the U.S. and other countries see investing in the development of their coaches/teachers as a priority, why the JFF can’t realize this is a foundation piece to any national program that wants to excel???

Yes in a perfect world JA would have an academy league with say 20 teams

In the real world I'd be content to begin with 1 national academy
