The Mexico v. Paraguay match was advertised about 4 months prior to the kickoff. That friendly was a big deal.

I mentioned that I was at the airport the day before the game...and place was packed with Mexican fans who turn up just to welcome the team.

The Mexican fan base alone will literally support this new franchise. Of course adding name brand Mexican players will only make it much better.

Smart move......We've had young players (teenagers) signed by top European clubs, this year, and none of the local clubs, that developed them, got a dime, because they weren't signed to Homegrown contracts.......Dortmund signed Pulisic for free, last year.

They're doing what NYCFC should have done.......Seem to have done their "homework" and hired smart people.

Claudia Reyna, Patrick Viera....excellent footballers.

Don't know about their management and coaching skill set.

When Reyna was hired, all he was talking about was getting their academy started & developing youth. He even formed partnerships with area youth clubs, what Carlos is now doing in Atlanta.......There's still no true NYCFC academy & looking at the players they signed, it seems ownership wanted to make a SPLASH & excepted immediate MLS success.

Southern Soccer Association(SSA) our club had 11 kids signed with AUFC. The most for one club. There is some politics in our club as they are biased to one location but they have some decent kids. My biggest disappointment is AUFC will be using the same method used by Georgia United using mostly players from about 6 clubs. There is a lot of talent that is not affiliated to these clubs and a lot of soccer is played in Atlanta.
