Karl the teams are quick in these times if you are short a man, it's not wise to just throw yourself into attack. You leave your self to a massive counter strike. A team with eleven has more option to move forward quickly into attack because you are missing a player (whilst they have one to spare to help defensively). Look it up Karl.

We threw everybody or many of our players or any player on attack and they countered?
...or were we pinned in our defensive third, tried to 'clear the ball', lost it; a few quick quick movements of ball and opponents into space, a pass on goal and we were one down?

...and did we end strong on attack?

Jawge our loss had nothing to do with our being run off our feet! Rather Venezuela played football, we did not! ...yet even for that we could have shared the spoils.

We need to face the fact that the way we play does not lend itself to consistently good performances or the reaping of good results. We need to observe how our top tier opponents (and some of our 2nd tier opponents, like Venezuela) move the ball around and run off the ball. We need to see the simple commonsense things they do. ..e.g. movement and passing when there is no pressure on the ball.

We need to understand that the good players keep the ball moving and are masters of off-the-ball movement...and ape them!!! We need to ape the sensible!

Karl this is a numbers thing. Tell me what happens when you have a goalie who doesn't stop shots or make nail biting saves? Look at Guzman against Brasil I said he should have saved at least one of those shots on goal. Look at Guzman against Colombia except for the two that was out of his reach, Guzman came up with some damn good saves. Just think if we had a keeper like Guzman today.
