  • Captain Morgan for Copa America - 11 reasons why!!

Morgan should be selected to captain and anchor Jamaican team in Copa America and solidify and stabilize the team under his leadership and create a team culture to be ready for the remaining critical next two games of the 2018 world cup campaign.

    1. Morgan has a unbelievably strong record of longevity and durability everywhere he has gone and played over 600 professional games with very few injuries or issues, prior to the EPL 2016 season he played 10 consecutive games for Jamaica and went straight into EPL season where he missed just one game.

    2. Talk about greatest value add over time, traded from a non league team to Nottingham Forest in 2001-2 for two Forest kits to captaining Gritty Lcfc to EPL champions in 2016.

    3. Named Forest captain after 400th game, talk about never giving up and patience over a long time to be named captain after 400 games, what were they waiting for??? incredible sense of duty and resolve!

    4. Named Leicester City captain after three months with club. Lcfc was very wise, recognising his leadership qualities immediately.

    5. That quick recognition of his leadership qualities led to The Gritty winning the championship within two years of him being made Captain.

    6. Captained the Gritty Lcfc to EPL champions within two years of being in Epl.

    7. Manager Ranieri said of him, paraphrasing here, "he is the perfect Captain, solid, strong and intelligent"

    8. Wes was captain of what some say was the greatest relegation escape in EPL history, the Gritty won six of their last eight matches to go from last place"relegation bound" to 14th place and staying up!

    9. Awards and accolades cyan done!!!

    A. Was named in Football manager's team of decade at Football league awards in 2015.

    B. Was named to Pfa team of the year in 2015-6.

    C. Named in Football league championship team of the year in 2010-11 and 2012-3.

    D. Football league team of decade 2005-2015.

    E. Lcfc player of the season in 2012-3

    F. Lcfc player's player of the season in 2012-3.

G.Was key contributor to Jamaica's first final in a major international tournament, Concacaf Gold Cup.

    10. Based on sequence of events thus far he is on a current run of two years to a championship title; Two years to a Premier league title and; and what happens in two years from now???? Yes, the World, cup, why would we deny an opportunity to finish that treble in two years from now if he is named captain in 2016 even a second round berth would be an incredible achievement.

    11. The most important reason why Morgan should be named captain of Jamaica right now; is the last time a Captain Morgan from Jamaica went to Panama do you remember what happened!!! Name him now!!

Name Morgan captain immediately, there is no one even close to this magnificent set of achievements, if he is interested and enthused by such, he makes an extremely compelling case and destiny and history awaits the Ascension of Captain Morgan to the leadership role of Jamaica captain.

Agree. Should be a No-brainer, but it's the JFF.

The JFF is to be blamed for Winnie's choice?

Good reasoning, but how do the other players view him in comparison to the present captain - Rudy Austin?
Hey .. look at the bright side .... at least you're not a Liverpool fan! - Lazie 2/24/10 Paul Marin -19 is one thing, 20 is a whole other matter. It gets even worse if they win the UCL. *groan*. 05/18/2011.MU fans naah cough, but all a unuh a vomit?-Lazie 1/11/2015

Love Austin, but is time to this thing to another level. He has been out of the mix recently, good time to make that transition, must maximize all available resources.
Morgan has been in the mix pretty heavily for most official games except Nicaragua, it's time to step it up and the Copa is the best place to get that going plus get the team to jel.

                  Calm down, Stoni!

Stoni, why was Wes Morgan not playing for Jamaica 3 years ago? Do you know?

All these big-ups could be justified, but they ain't go'n mean a thing to me or most Jamaicans, especially sun-bun Jamaicans, if we don't advance to the Hex.

Aaah, I can see you just skimmed it, the entire thing is focused on making the hex. Wheel and read again.

                      No repeats, show me one!
It is our very lack of accountability that leads us to equating Morgan to anyone else, but when we look at the tale of the tape it tells us how immense Morgan's accomplishments have been even taking out the EPL win this year.

The same reason that resulted in Nyron Nosworthy not playing for us when he was in his prime...
