  • Daniel Gordon To Join Bundesliga 2 Club Sandhausen

After rejecting a contract extension from his former club, Karlsruhe, Daniel Gordon has agreed to a two-year contract with Bundesliga 2 club Sandhausen. He expects to sign the contract later this week. Sandhausen finished 13th in Bundesliga 2. Karlsruhe was seventh in Bundesliga 2. Sandhausen is only 50 KM northeast of Karlsruhe.

Wrapping up Bundesliga 2, champions Freiburg will return to the big time after being relegated last season. RB Leipzig was second and will also be promoted.

Third-place FC Nuremburg will play Bundesliga 1 club Eintracht Frankfurt in a relegation playoff. FSV Frankfurt and Paderborn were the bottom two teams and will be dropped to Liga 3. Duisburg, who finished 16th, will play
Wurzburg Kickers of Liga 3 in a relegation playoff.

Looks Like Karlsruhe Is Rebuilding With Youth...

Karlsruhe appears to be in rebuilding mode. Several players have been brought up from the B team, the team is getting a new coach, and many of
Daniel's teammates, especially from the back end of Karlsruhe's lineup, have signed with other teams.

Daniel, coming off an injury-plagued season, apparently didn't fit into Karlsruhe's plans for next year. Apparently, that was reflected in Karlsruhe's contract offer to Daniel.

Karlsruhe conceded only 37 goals in 34 games, second fewest in Bundesliga 2.
Unfortunately, they only scored 35 goals. Daniel had one goal last season.
