  • Final Round Of Bundesliga 1 & 2

    BUNDESLIGA 1:

To the surprise of nobody, Bayern Munich (85 points) is the champion of the
Bundesliga. Borussia Dortmund (77) will be second, and Bayer Leverkusen (57) will be third. Those clubs will be headed to Round 2 of the Champions League. Borussia Moenchengladbach (52) goes to Round 1.

Mainz, Hertha Berlin, and Schalke 04 (49) will be in the Europa League.

At the bottom, Hannover 96 (25) is doomed to relegation. VFB Stuttgart (33) is in the relegation zone, and Werder Bremen (35) is in the relegation playoff. Eintracht Frankfurt (36) Hoffenheim (37), Darmstadt (38) are safe , but could fall into the relegation zone.

    BUNDESLIGA 2:

SC Freiburg are the champions, and will return to the big time after being relegated last season. RB Leipzig, the most hated team in Germany, will be second, buying their way into the big time. RB Leipzig, part of the Red Bull energy drink empire, will be the first team from the former East Germany in the Bundesliga since 1994. FC Nuremburg will take third and play the 16th
place team (see above) from Bundesliga 1 in a playoff.

At the bottom Paderborn, (28, -26 goal difference), FSV Frankfurt (29,-27),
and Duisborg (29, -23) are in the relegation zone. Any of those three teams could get into the relegation playoff and a chance to save themselves against a Liga 3 team to be determined. Fortuna Dusseldorf (32, -17) is the only safe team with a chance of falling into the relegation zone.

Dynamo Dresden and Erzebirge Aue have clinched the top two spots in Liga 3 and will be promoted to Bundesliga 2. Both teams, no strangers to Bundesliga 2, are from the former East Germany.
