The Romeo Parkes I know acted out of character.
He is what we in Jamaica term, "good man".

He will learn from that mistake and return a more mature player. He has fantastic potential and presently an abundance of football skills:
    Powerful right foot!
    Powerful left foot!
    Good speed across ground!

Knows how to move well on and off the ball.
I am amazed that he is not in the Jamaica national team set up as a permanent fixture.

Went on trials in Turkey...unsuccessful. I suspect it is the same problem we have had with so many of our players...scratch that...the vast majority of our players lack of knowledge on the game as his local teachers being ignorant themselves could not introduce their charges to 'proper' playing.

Look it is simple, if a school keeps turning our top students who are not up to snuff = It is the fault of the school's teachers!

Our local coaches are our football schools' teachers!

I know many vehemently are opposed to the pointing out of the obvious...but 'facts are stubborn things'!

The truth is "Bibi" our best and most successful footballer since 1998 has succeeded...overcome the handicap of poor teaching to launch his career. When will our football teachers start turning our even 1 "Bibi-like" student-footballer?

He's going to need a good agent, because right now he's seen as a thug & someone with no self-control, plus that video is being seen all over the world. Saw a report of the incident in Spanish......Makes it even more difficult that it happened playing in USL (U.S. 3rd tier).

Maybe a small step in that direction would be hiring a national coach who also acts as a de facto TD....

Instead of cravenly looking to hordes of English journeymen to make a "team"...Taking promising young (and not so young) local players and working them hard....allowing them the time & freedom to fail, learn then succeed

Rath!! Nuh dat Simoes did do wid Bibi, Tappa et al???

If only such an approach could conceivably result in a senior WCQ....but it would be impossible...dont?

Karl Ouimette know bout the "good right foot" !

And with respect to the fault of the teachers, I disagree in general; it's more like the fault of the system. Good teachers operate in bad systems and might overcome (produce good students)... but a mediocre or even poor teacher working in a good system can achieve decent results!

There are limitations because the system is not designed for conflict resolution.
On the field conflicts are dealt with the brandishing of a red card, and that takes care everything.
Coaches need a phd in psychology in order to be effective.

It is almost as if it is okay to fight as long as you do so fairly, and I am not in any trying to justify what Parkes did to Ouimette, just mindful of what is being asked of Zidane ,an offender now coaching one of the top five clubs in the World.
            Was France to be blamed?
Rather harsh to criticize local teachers..

'Big' players will get a bligh ..... And the support of the club if they are considered indispensible. Suarez, Cantona, Maradona, Zidane .... Because they represent a big investment by the club. It's not that they couldn't be dismissed but the club opts not to exercise that option because of the value of the player to the club

Unfortunately not one of our players has even come remotely close to such designation, so we continue to suffer the burden of being quickly dispensable in such cases as these. As you so rightly point out no one is going to chop off a significant part of them portfolio for nothing unless the toxicity outweighs the investment.
