Speed key to Richards' game
Dane Richards was relatively confident that he'd be selected in Major League Soccer's SuperDraft. After all, he's got something coaches can't teach: speed, and lots of it.
Richards has been fast since he started playing soccer in his native Jamaica as a 7-year-old. But he got into organized games late, not until he started high school. Diana Richards, his mother, wouldn't let young Dane play, "to read books" and concentrate on schoolwork.
But the high school coach saw Dane Richards playing during gym class, and invited him to practice with the team.
