Brazil 1978 against England in color (many years later) Do you think that Skill Cole, Deigo Gordon et al could have gone up against Revelinho, Zico and Co.? Notic I did not go back to 1970 and below with Pele.

    Give me your thoughts.

Jawge!!! Stop it.......You know that Jamaica invested only about 2 weeks, with many of those players working a 9 to 5, to prepare for international competition........That '78 Brazil team would have destroyed & humiliated the '14 Brazil team.

Quite possibly you weren't around but there was a time on this site when it
was touted that JA had the talent to run with Revelinho et al.

This was close to the time after France 98. It was argued that there was a better pool of players in Ja.

My beef is with JBC. JBC would not show S.American games (which had huge emphasis on technique). The England vs Brasil game wasn't shown all one saw was the British league. As a young boy then I thought these guys in England were top dogs. I was worried for Socrates, Zico et al when they came up against Scotland in 82. I was like lawd jeezaz ah Souness, Archibald, Daghlish (sp) unnuh ah go play? When Zico scored that free kick
we erupted in loud noises. That's memories I will keep forever. I was on McCatty St. with friends watching it on a black and white TV. I said we only play ball that way on the streets (little did I know). That summer was one of the best times in my life.

Skill could have gone up the best in any era and be quite at home.

Deigo had the greatest of potential but what our fanz saw as fantastic football was naive use of tremendous technical skills. Deigo needed to be taught the game.
