  • Aston Villa - Talent versus team chemistry and desire!!!

When you look at the Aston Villa roster it makes you wonder! Here is a team loaded with stellar talent and players of more than good potential, they have played well in patches all year but here we are at year end and they are in last place, on the road to relegation, you have to wonder how is this possible with this roster??
This roster is loaded ,as good as it gets for a non-big top four/five club.

Just again goes to show this thing is not just about talent and there are a number of other key factors that play a part in success that we in Jamaica are not focused on at all, preparation, Fitness, organization, team discipline just to name a few where there is much room for improvement. Perfect example losing 2-0 to Panama at home, we were totally unprepared for that game, unforgivable at this level!!!!!

Here are some of the players at Aston Villa now that I rate pretty highly on talent.

    Defender
7 Leandro Bacuna Curaçao Curaçao - good player
43 Aly Cissokho France France - decent player
16 Joleon Lescott England England - excellent player even at advanced age.
4 Micah Richards England England- really good player, not as good as we originally thought but very good.
40 Jack Grealish England England, very skilled, great talent.
8 Idrissa Gueye Senegal Senegal, brilliant, one of best dm's in epl pretty much buried on this underachieving team, the only rival to Kante on interceptions and successful tackles in all of EPL.

28 Charles N'Zogbia France France very good player, would take him in a heartbeat for Jamaica.

18 Kieran Richardson England England, very talented, good player, underachieved.

24 Carlos Sánchez Colombia Colombia, seen this guy play a few times and was very impressed, very good dm, good ball carrier, tough to take the ball from. Good interceptor and good passer.

9 Scott Sinclair England England, good player, decent results.
11 Gabriel Agbonlahor England England, good. Fast player, can definetly score and create havoc for defenses. I hear he is overweight now, not so fast anymore.
19 Jordan Ayew Ghana Ghana. Good, decent player, good skills
35 Corey Blackett-Taylor England England, good potential.
39 Rudy Gestede Benin Benin, good player, saw him score a few hood goals against good strong opposition.
20 Adama Traoré a fantastic talent with unlimited potential!!!

That is quite a few players, I cannot do same for next five clubs above them.

Stony please explain Arsenal squad as succinctly as u did

Aston Village. I await your astute observation as to why we not running away this year with the Premier League Title. Top to bottom is Arsenal less ambitious, less talented or Do you have any idea why Arsenal can beat Leicester twice a team that is hard working has all the factors you consider Jamaica should used. Yet we struggle against every other team LcFC beat up.
I respect your football analysis so eagerly awaits your open analysis of Arsenal.

Well, let us look on just that last win of Arsenal versus Lcfc, I thought it funny as many used that game to justify that Arsenal had just beaten Goliath and they celebrated thusly. The truth is they luckily beat the Gritty with the last minute goal and this escape victory was on home soil, against an in form club used to grinding out close games so really it should have been a sigh of relief in winning at last minute.

Bottom line to me is two and a half things maybe three and a half! :
Team defense is not cohesive enough, they have lost seven games, seven games!!!
Gritty has lost three games, so head to head is important but bottom line numbers across season is more important. Cannot lose seven games through 32 games and contend to win the title, puts too much pressure on last few games and team has not done well under pressure so more than likely they will not finish season by winning out, thus again not contending for another season.

I disagree on talent, Arsenal is loaded, sometimes I think too loaded so they cannot figure out who to play and when and how to combine, the game is about consistent results and that is the difference, Arsenal can be as brilliant ad they want to be with a plethora of great talent, Ozil, Sanchez, Ramsey, Giroud, and on and on it goes, maybe there is a little too much self belief which sometimes leads to complacency and the record seems to indicate that.

The third issue of course is injuries, especially Cazorla, he is also a fighter. And hustler and without him no one has really stepped up in his critical role for the team. Finally I just thing Wehner is not connected enough with players and if he is he is not driving his charges to step up especially in key moments.

          Thanks I share your thoughts

Totally concur. However I wouldn't mind Spurs win so my team can feel just as aggrieved as I am with these couple seasons.

Like Spurs but I am now 100% Leicester as long as Morgan is there!

Villa have uncommitted management, continue to sell their best talent and has had to many coaches over the last few years. The owner wanting to sell Villa for the last 3 years.

Sorry for them but they will rebound. I still give them my support and hope the villan supporters stays while the club rebuild.
