  • Liverpool needs to prioritise a 20 goal a season striker

With two of its defensive midfielders out, and an alternate out - (Henderson) for the rest of the season according to BR ? Considering we have two healthy strikers.

Only a genius would not look to balance the team with steel and a spine.
THERE IS ONLY ONE ONANDI LOWE!

"It therefore is useless and pointless, unless it is for share malice and victimisation to arrest and charge a 92-year-old man for such a simple offence. There is nothing morally wrong with this man smoking a spliff; the only thing wrong is that it is still on the law books," said Chevannes.

So you're agreeing! Glad to see we have moved you to the centre!!
BTW, notwithstanding Carroll being a "BR reject", you probably forgot that a guy named Luis Suarez was on the scene that year!

Characterising Carroll as a BR reject is characteristically simplistic. While most of the fans wanted Carroll to stay (including me), the system was being built around Suarez, not Carroll. In the previous season, it was fairly obvious that Carroll and Suarez were not playing off each other effectively, Carroll's numbers did not do him any favours, with only 6 goals in 44 appearances. But more importantly, when you have a big target man, everything typically has to be set up around them. You see it at PSG now, where a nimble player like Canavani is somewhat "marginalised" with Ibra in the squad. We also see it now at LFC with Benteke being put on the bench. In systems where mobility is key, big target men typically have a hard time fitting in. So, I speculate that moving Carroll along made it easier to set the team up around Suarez. This is why he correctly went out to sign Coutinho and Sturridge. I don't think that anyone could argue (well - any sensible people) that the system LFC played in 2013 was not fine-tuned to exploit Luis Suarez's talents. But hey...I guess some would have you believe that building the attack around Carroll instead would have made more sense.

The forum doesn't display tables well, but essentially reading from left to right (of course) are: the season year end, so 15 is the 2014-2015 season, followed by the club that won and their leading goal scorer and no. of goals he scored. Next is the team that finished last and their leading goal scorer and the number of goals he scored.

I leave it to folks to draw their own conclusion regarding the importance of (a) goal scorer(s) in the team!
