This is what I could make of the video: Braintree. the team in orange, ahead 1-0, put the ball out of play so one of its injured players could get treatment.

The team in white, in an attempt to give the ball back when play resumed,
lob kicked the ball back from about 50 yards away towards their opponent's goal. Braintree's goalie, well off his line, botched it, and the ball went into the net.

The referee had no choice but to award the goal, much to the dismay of Braintree.

In these types of situations, the re-start of play after a ball is played out for injury, should be a goal kick to the team that played the ball out, IMO. If the understanding is that they get the ball back, just award the goal kick!
